PADDY KELLY’S (REEL) [3]. Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. The reel is more or less similar to (but not cognate with) other A dorian melodies, such as "Hunter's Purse (The),” Hawthorn (1) (The)/Sceach (An)," Haymaker Reel (2) (The)," and "Heel of the Hunt (The). The composition has been credited to East Galway fiddler Paddy Kelly (by fiddler Sean Ryan (on his 1972 album "Back Home to the Cliffs of Mohir), and to Tipperary accordion player Paddy O'Brien (Henrik Norbeck).
