PAPA’S PET. AKA and see “Mangan's.” Irish, Reel. G Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is called “Mangan’s” in New Jersey accordion player Luke O’Malley’s collection, from the title fiddler John McGrath used. The tune appears as "Papa's Pet" in button accordion player Jerry O'Brien's Irish Folk Dance Music, published in Boston in 1952, perhaps a counterpart of "Mamma's/Mama's Pet (2)" which also appears in the volume.

Source for notated version: students of New York fiddler and accordion player John McGrath (1900-1955, originally from County Mayo) [O'Malley].

Printed sources: O'Brien (Irish Folk Dance Music), 1952; No. 152. O'Malley (Luke O'Malley's Collection of Irish Music, vol. 1), 1976; No. 22, p. 11.
