PAVILION [2], THE. English, Quadrille Part or Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABA. The melody was used as the fourth part of London dancing master Thomas Wilson's "3rd Set of Quadrilles." Quadrilles became very fashionable in London in from about 1815, and many quadrille sets were published in the next twenty or thirty years.
