PROFESSOR MARTIN’S MAGGOT. English, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABCBC. Attributed to Prof. Leonard Martin c. 1930. The notated melody and dance directions (longways set dance for three couples) were discovered in the back of a “Playford Book” among the papers of Professor Martin of Liverpool University after he died.
