PUNTER’S GRAVEYARD. American, Reel. B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Portland, Oregon, multi-instrumentalist Dan Compton. The title references Compton’s father-in-law’s view of the Limerick races, which begin the day after Christmas, and his observation that the experienced punters keep their money in their pockets, owing to the fact that the favorites seldom seem to win.
