SWEET CONCLUSION, THE. English, Jig. England, Dorset. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody and country dance directions were first published in London in Benjamin Martin's The General Magazine of Arts and Sciences (1755, p. 137). It was later entered into the 19th century music manuscripts of novelist Thomas Hardy's family in Dorset, England.
