VALE OF LEVEN. Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (tuning). AB. Compsed by biography:Carl Volti, born Archibald Milligan in Glasgow in 1849. Volti, a fiddler, composed many tunes found in the Kerr’s collections and also published several tutors, albums of popular songs, national overtures, etc. (Nigel Gatherer). The tune's title refers to an area of West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, in the valley of the River Leven.
