6/8 d'ANDRÉ ALAIN. AKA - "Andre Alain's Jig." The tune is sourced to Québec fiddler Andre Alain (1931-2000) from St-Basile-de-Portneuf, near Québec City. Alain was influenced by the playing of his uncle, Armand Chastenay, and itinerant fiddler William "Quéteux" Tremblay, His style has been much imitated by younger players.
