Kinnaird Caslte is a 15th century mansion in Angus, Scotland, held by the Carnegie family, Earls of Southesk, for 600 years. The Carnegies were patrons, if not employers of dancing master Archibald Duff, who wrote many tunes in his collection in the honor of various family members. David Carnegie, secveth baronet and fourth earl of Southesk, rebuilt Kinnaird In 1791-1792, only a coupe of years prior to Duff's publication.
