LAIRD'S KILT, THE. Scottish, Schottische (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. Composed by fiddler-composer and dancing master biography:J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), who dedicated the schottische to W. Barcley, Laird of Logie-Muir, born in 1820, in Huntly, Aberdeenshire. His wife was Elspet Barclay (Clark) (1827-1877) whom he married in 1847. It was a second tune in Skinner's Logie Collection (1888) for Barclay--see also "Muir O'Logie (The)."
