POPLAR TOP. American, Reel (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A fairly simple binary tune from the repertoire of Iowa fiddler Dwight Lamb. born in Moorhead, Iowa, on May 16, 1934, now resident of Onawa. He is an exponent of the Missouri Valley Style of playing, also called Northern Missouri Hornpipe Style., and plays “left-handed style” on a fiddle strung in the standard way. Lamb also plays the button accordion, and is known for his repertoire learned from his grandfather, a Danish immigrant.
