ROUGH LITTLE HEATHY HILL (An {Garbh-}Chnoicín Fraoigh). AKA and see "Fare You Well," "End of the Mission," "Sinner's Lament." Irish, Air (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The air is the same basic melody as "Tatter Jack Walsh," "Garden of Daisies (2) (The)," "Palatine's Daughter (The)," and "Savourneen Deelish." See also minor versions under title “Little Heathy Hill (The).” The melody appears in County Cork Church of Ireland cleric James Goodman’s mid-19th century music manuscripts. Goodman (1828-1896) was an uilleann piper and an Irish speaker who collected locally in County Cork and elsewhere in Munster. He also obtained tunes from manuscripts and printed collections.
