SALLY McGEE. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The first strain is similar to Francis O'Neill's "Sally Magee (1)," albeit in a different mode. Paul de Grae remarks that a setting in County Cork cleric James Goodman's mid-19th century music manuscript "seems like a "folk-processed" version of O'Farrell's tune." Goodman entered two versions in his large multi-volume collections; in vol. 2, p. 172 and vol. 3, p. 121.
