TENDING THE STEER, WITH A HEAVY HEART (G'ioman nan Gamhnan, 's mi muladach). Scottish, Pipe Slip Jig (9/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first strain is cognate with the first strain of the English "Drops of Brandy (1)" and the Irish air/slip jig "Jaunting Car for Six," but the second strains differ, although have some melodic contour similarities.
