ALBERT BRIDGE. Canadian, Reel (2/4 time). Canada, Cape Breton. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Dan R. MacDonald and named for a tiny community on Cape Breton located on the south side of the Mira river between Sydney and Louisburg, formerly known as Mira Ferry [1]. In 1849 a bridge was over the Mira was built that replaced the ferry, and the name of the community was changed to honor Queen Victoria's consort, Prince Albert.
