BARNGANN GILL, THE. AKA - "Barngaw Gill." English, Country Dance (cut time). England, Northumberland. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. A 'gill' is a type of liquid measure. The tune was entered, under the variant title "Barngaw Gill," into the 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist John Rook of Waverton, near Wigton, Cumbria.
