CAMERON CHISHOLM [1]. Canadian, Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Cape Breton fiddler and composer Dan R. MacDonald (1911-1976) in honor of influential Sou’west Margaree, Cape Breton, fiddler and composer Cameron Chilsholm (b. 1945), whose "old style" playing retains influences from pipe music. Chisholm played with MacDonald on the Ceilidh television show that aired in 1973 and 1974, with John Allan Cameron (and later Alasdair Gillies) as host.
