CAIRO IN THE CABBAGE PATCH. AKA - "Caro in the Cabbage Patch," "Cows in the Cabbage Patch," "Saro." American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was in the repertoire of Laurel Fork, Carroll County, southwest Virginia, fiddler and banjo player Taylor Kimble (1892-1979). It consists of the old-time breakdown and song "Saro," with a second strain added by Kimble.
