CAROLAN'S COTTAGE. Irish, Air or Planxty (3/4 time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Sullivan, Stanford/Petrie): AABB (Barnes). Attributed to blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). Carolan researcher Donal O'Sullivan (1958) had little to say about this air, save that it is similar in structure to that of Carolan's "Lament for Terence MacDonough." He neither supported nor refuted that this was a composition of the bard's.

Turlough O'Carolan
