MATT MOLLOY'S (JIG). Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody has been attributed to Pete Kelly, who originally called it "Shannonaire's Jig (The)" after a showband or ceili band he was a member of in New York in the 1960's. Many of the alternate titles seem to have New York connections (e.g. Lad O'Beirne, Charlie Mulvihill, 'Baby Gavin', and Joe Burke {from his time in New York}).
