Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AABB' (O'Neill/1915). The tune was dictated by Francis O'Neill, although he said he did not recall where he had learned it [1]. A version of the tune was entered as an untitled jig in Book 3 of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894), and Canon biography:James Goodman entered a variant as "Black Stripper (The)" in his large mid-19th century music manuscript collection.
