LE PETRE'S HORNPIPE. American; Hornpipe. D Major ('A' part) & A Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. "Le Petre's Hornpipe" appears in advertisements for a number of cheaply published music collections of the latter 19th century. Dance instructions for "Le Petre's Hornpipe" were printed in John M. Schell's Prompting, How To Do It (New York, 1890, p. 56).
