DUSTY MILLER [3]. American, Reel (cut time). USA; Kentucky, Missouri. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A similar "Dusty Miller" reel was in the repertory of Missouri fiddler Gene Goforth (1921-2002), learned from his father, Richard "Dink" Goforth. An east Kentucky "Dusty Miller" was also played by fiddler Santford Kelly. Source J. P. Fraley (Rush, Kentucky, d. 2011) said his father had a flour mill, and thus he perhaps had an affinity for the tune.
