Originally from N:Tullymet, near Pitlochry, Perthshire. He moved to London in the last decade N:of his life. "Mrs. Garden of Troup (3)" was composed by Scottish fiddler-composer biography:Robert Mackintosh (c. 1745-1808) and was printed in his Fourth Book of New Strathspey Reels (London, 1804), a volume dedicated to the Jane, Duchess of Gordon.
