GRAND MARCH OF NORMAL [1]. AKA and see "Captain Bluett's March," "Russian Grand March." American, March (4/4 time). USA, southwestern Pa. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Probably a corruption of 'Grand March' from Bellini's opera Norma, although it (along with "Grand March of Normal (2)") only mimics the first few bars of that work. Other versions of this popular march preserve more of Bellini's original.
