The most famous wikipedia:Nancy Dawson was a popular London stage dancer and actress whose hey-day was some forty year prior to Aird's printing of the tune. However, the name Dawson is common enough, and may refer to a different person. The melody appears as "Owen Malone" in Francis O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903, No. 851), from piper Michael Dunlap.
