The most famous wikipedia:Nancy Dawson was a popular London stage dancer and actress whose hey-day was some forty year prior to Aird's printing of the tune. However, the name Dawson is common enough, and may refer to a different person. The melody appears as "Owen Malone" in Francis O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903, No. 851), from piper Michael Dunlap. The first strain is shared with "Shepherd's Jigg" and "Trip to Ankerwick."
