The reel is traditionally paired with the strathspey "Highlands of Scotland (1) (The)." It appears (as "Lowlands of Scotland") in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman. although Goodman's setting is distanced from that printed in the Kerr's collection.
