GREEN GROW THE RUSHES O [3]. French-Canadian, Reel or Polka (cut and 3/2 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Green Grow the Rushes O" comes from the playing of Gaspesian fiddler Alden Keith Patterson, who taught it to fiddler Claude Methe in the 1970's when they met in Sainte-Foy, Quebec. It is an adaptation of the air and dance tune "Green Grow the Rushes O (1),"
