Biographical notes


Robert Lightfoot was a Northumbrian composer, fiddler, and perhaps a piper, who hailed from Harlow Hill, near Hadrian’s Wall. Hishey-day was c. 1830-1860. See his compositions "Beeswing," "Mr. Sharp's Quadrille" and "Shipley's Hornpipe."
