GIRL OF THE WHITE HOUSE, THE. Irish, Slow Air (6/8 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. "The Girl of the White House" is identified by researcher Pádraigín Ní Uallacháin as a version of "Cailín an Tí Bháin." The tune was in the repertory of farmer and uilleann piper biography:Philip Goodman (d. c.1910), one of the last known traveling pipers of Farney in Co. Monaghan. Goodman played the air at the Feis Ceoil in Belfast in 1900. He also contributed tunes to the Luke Donnellan music collection (c. 1909, Oriel region).
