JIM CROW QUADRILLE [1].   English, Quadrille part (2/4 time).   The "Jim Crow Quadrilles" are five tunes variously in duple and triple time that make up a quadrille set. They were entered into the c. 1860's music manuscript collection of musician William Tildesley of Swinton, Lancashire.  There is another set of quadrilles called "The Crow Quadrilles," published in America in 1837 that consists of instrumental versions of blackface minstrel songs<ref>1) Jim Crow; (2) Sich a Gittin Up Stairs; (3) Sittin on a Rail; (4) Clare de Kitchin; (5) Bone Squash Diabolo.</ref>, but they are unrelated to Tildesley's quadrille parts.
