Irish, Jig (6/8 time).   G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABA. "The French Reaper" is a jig that was entered into volume 1 (p. 196) of the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman. The first stain can also be found as part of "Dingle Regatta." Goodman also entered a nearly identical tune later in volume 1 (p. 257c) as an untitled quadrille part.
