ANNE MARIE'S REEL. AKA - "Le Reel Anne-Marie." Canadian (originally), American; Reel. Canada; New Brunswick, Ontario. A Major ('A' part) & E Major ('B' part). AA'BB (Phillips): AABB' (Bégin). The reel, which is sometimes erroneously attributed to Canadian radio and TV fiddler Don Messer, was (according to Peter Corfield) composed by New Brunswick fiddler Eloi LeBlanc, known as the "Acadian Paganini." Curiously, the exact title does not appear on Eloi's only commercial recording, his eponymous 1977 LP, although the very close "Ann Murray's Reel" is cut B8. They may be the same tune, with the LP title a mishearing by the studio.
