ANNE MARIE'S REEL. AKA - "Le Reel Anne-Marie." Canadian (originally), American; Reel. Canada; New Brunswick, Ontario. A Major ('A' part) & E Major ('B' part). AA'BB (Phillips): AABB' (Bégin). The reel, which is sometimes erroneously attributed to Canadian radio and TV fiddler Don Messer, was (according to Peter Corfield) composed by New Brunswick fiddler Eloi LeBlanc (1909-1978), known variously as the "Acadian Paganini', “The Fiddler of Memramcook Valley”, and "Grandfather of the Acadien Fiddle". Curiously, the exact title does not appear on Eloi's only commercial recording, his eponymous 1977 LP, although the very close "Ann Murray's Reel" is cut B8.
