GUENILLE, LA (The Rag). French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC'. Hart & Sandell (2001) note the title refers to a piece of cloth, and that it is a commonly heard tune in Québec. The attribute the tune's popularity in part to singer Mary Travers "La Boduc" who set words to it.

Source for notated version: fiddler Louis Beaudoin (1921-1980, Burlington, Vt.), whose own source was Denis Mathieu [Hart & Sandell].

Printed sources: Hart & Sandell (Dance ce Soir), 2001; No. 14, p. 47.

Recorded sources: SOCAN MPCD 2039, La Bottine Souriante - "En spectacle" (1996). Philo Records, Louis Beaudoin" (1973).
