HARESHAWHEAD STRATHSPEY. English, Strathspey. England, Northumberland. D Major (Hall & Stafford): A Major (Dixon). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by Robert Whinham (1814-1893), a musician, teacher, composer, dancing master and fiddler, originally from Morpeth. Dixon finds the title references a farm called Hareshawhead on the Bellingham to Otterburn road in Northumberland.
