ACORN STOMP. Old‑Time, Country Ragtime. F Major. Standard tuning. ABCD (Silberberg): ABBCCDD (Phillips). This two-tune medley has been attributed to East Texas Serenaders' fiddler Huggins Williams in the early 20th century, recorded in Dallas, Texas, on October 25th, 1928. However, variants of the 2nd melody were earlier printed as "Essence of Sugar Cane" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), and also as "Darky's Dream." See also the Irish barndance derivative "Offally Favorite."
