CHARLES MACHUGH (Catal Mac Aoda). Irish, Air (3/8 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The melody is not the same as either Bunting's "Cathal Mhac Aodh" or Joyce's "Charles McHugh, the Robber," though the personage of the title, Charles McHugh/Magee/McHugh is apparently the same. Charles had a rather short career as a highwayman in Ulster.
