DALLAS STAMPER TUNE, A. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. A Major. Standard or ADae tunings (fiddle). AB. Christeson had the tune from Dallas Stamper, who played it at a six-day picnic and square-dance in Dixon, Missouri, in 1926, with Christeson seconding him on the piano. The picnic was sponsored by Pat Scott, a local barber. Stamper was from Miller County, Missouri, and operated the phone exchange in Brumley as his 'day job', but "few fiddlers before or since have impressed me any more than Dallas," Christeson remarked.
