DANDY JIM O' CAROLINE [2]. AKA and see "Monongahela College," "Taylor's Quickstep [1]." American, March (2/4 time). USA, southwestern Pa., Va. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A once very well known fife piece in southwestern Pa., but also has been collected as a fiddle tune in Albemarle County, Va (see Southern Folklore Quarterly, VI, p. 10). Bayard (1981) connects the tune to the Irish "Templehouse," both reel and jig versions.
