FOREST OF GARTH, THE. AKA and see "Forest of Gaick (The)." Scottish, Strathspey. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Welling): AABB' (Kerr). The tune is sometimes attributed to Niel Gow, but is in fact the composition of Gow's younger contemporary, William Marshall. The title is erroneous as well, for Marshall's tune is named "The Forest of Gaick".
