GERALD DILLON. AKA - "Planxty Dillon." Irish, Planxty (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738) in honor of Captain Gerald Dillon (d. 1720) of Mannin, near Ballyhaunis, County Mayo. Dillon was the father of Fanny Dillon who married James Betagh, for whom the bard also composed pieces.
