HUMORS OF TUFTS STREET. AKA and see "Cuffe Street," "Humors of Cuffe Street (The)." Irish, Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. New York musician, writer and researcher Don Meade identifies this tune as a version of "Reel of Bogie," and says it was recorded by the group Altan under the title "Old Cuffe Street." Tufts Street is in Cambridge, Boston, Massachusetts, named after Peter Tufts (1774-1825), a surveyor, whose house was on the corner of Magazine Street. The firm of Elias Howe, publisher of Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), was based in Boston.
