INDIAN NATION [2]. Old-Time, Breakdown. G Major. GDad tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A vague resemblance in the 'A' part to "Indian Nation (1)." Rather more similarity to Kentucky fiddler Alva Greene's "Indian Squaw (1)." See also the related "Inch Along," "Nigger Inch Along" and "Johnny Inchin' Along."

Source for notated version: Bruce Molsky [Phillips].

Printed sources: Phillips (Traditional American Fiddle Tunes), vol. 1, 1994; p. 118.

Recorded sources: Augusta Heritage Records AHR 017, "The Diller Collection, Vol. 1, Old Time Music of Pocahontas County: The Fiddling of Burl Hammons." June Appal 0067, Roan Mountain Hilltoppers - "Seedtime on the Cumberland" (1992). Marimac 9038, Dan Gellert & Brad Leftwich - "A Moment in Time." Rounder CD 0397, Scott Nygaard - "Dreamer's Waltz" (1996). Rounder CD 0371, Mac Bendord and the Woodshed All-Stars - "Willow" (1996. Learned from Walt Koken, who had it from West Virginia's Hammons Family). Rounder 1131, Ed Haley - "Ed Haley, vol. 1; Forked Deer."
