N:The appellation "à Toto", "of Toto," refers to his father's nickname, Toto,
N:received when he would help his own father (André's grandfather) who
N:was a carpenter. As toddler's will, he styled himself as his father's work
N:assistant, and when a hammer was requested by the workman, he
N:would fetch it crying "toto, toto, toto", his way of saying the French word
N:"marteau," or 'hammer'. The name stuck, and was bestowed on Andre
N:in much the same way O'... and Mac...refer to the patronymics of Gaelic
N:cultures (info. from Acadian Fiddle http://kith-folk-rzrg.squarespace.com).
