John Quinn finds a cognate version in the latter 19th century publications of Boston music publisher Elias Howe under the title "Foster's Hornpipe (2)." See note for "annotation:Aldridge's Hornpipe (1)" for information on the famous latter 18th century Irish-born stage dancer and pantomimist Robert Aldridge (b.c. 1738-1793).
