wikipedia:Ardkinglas is a castle, country house and estate in Argyll, on the eastern shore of Loch Fyne near the village of Cairndow. The castle is thought to date from the 14th century. In David Young's time the castle was held by the Campbells of Arkinglas, Baronets, but by 1769 the castle had been reported destroyed. The family built successive country houses on the site, the last one in 1907 (considered the masterpiece of architect Robert Lorimer) that still serves as a family home (although occasionally opened to the public).
