"Back of the Change [1]" is a cognate but distanced version of the reel usually known as "Beauty Spot (The)" today. The title perhaps refers to 'Back of the Change House' (a mercantile exchange), although that title belongs to another (Scottish) tune. A version was entered into Book 2 (p. 153)[1] of the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist), who, according to Hugh and Lisa Shields[2], obtained it from a manuscript provided to him by Dublin bookseller John O'Daly.
