BARLEY BRAE [1]. English?, Air (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was printed by piper O'Farrell in London in 1810. O'Farrell's collections are popularly thought to contain Irish tunes, of which there are many, however, his publications contained a variety of melodies from Ireland and Great Britain. There is a Scottish country dance called Barley Brae, although usually the vehicle for it is a jig set.
